In May 2013, the workshop "Numerical simulation of forest fires, from combustion to emissions" carried out within the framework of the IDEA Project (Forest fires: simulation of the dynamics and Atmospheric Emissions through code coupling). The aim of the workshop was to present and discuss recent progress made in the sphere of forest fire combustion.  The focus was placed on various numerical approaches developed for simulation of turbulent flame, firefront dynamics, fire emissions, atmospheric chemistry and model evaluation.
