Xavier Silvani

Career path

I qualified as a Doctor in Physics (PhD) specialising in Energy at the National Institute for Applied Sciences, Rouen in 2001. Since December 2007, I have been working as a CNRS research engineer at the SPE Laboratory of the University of Corsica. I run the experimental field platform for fires, an administrative structure that allows for the conducting of wide-scale free fire experiments in Corsica (Technical platforms and support / Field platform).

In the context of my support work, I am in the process of developing innovative metrology for fires beyond laboratory level: the data produced is primarily used for the various fire modelling systems at field level.
