Research activities
In September 1997 following my nomination as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Corsica, I continued to work within the "thermochemical systems" team. The overall research theme was the study of chemical energy systems by modelling the behaviour of various reactions such as agrifood processes requiring additional analyses at organoleptic and chromatographic level. Thereafter, the team embarked on a new topic focusing on the behaviour of forest fires in partnership with the ERT" physics of forest fires" of the University of Corsica. Another theme came to be developed, concerning the fire risk at laboratory and field level. My involvement focused on the study of gases emitted by plants during the preheating of fuel by the fire front, analysis of the composition of smoke emanating from these plants and the evaluation of their toxicity. The characterisation and promotion of natural resources, and in particular the study of the aromas and phenolic compounds of fruits, followed thereafter.
The common thread of my research activities is the analytical techniques used and the secondary metabolites studied. Since my recruitment, I have co-moderated two theses and supervised seven internships at Masters level.
